Tyson had already had some ecollar conditioning but I wanted to make sure I was consistent and needed more confidence myself as Tyson can be reactive and I was never 100% he would listen around other dogs so I avoided them. We had two 1:1 sessions, with another dog introduced and I left with some homework and im just back from busy park that I would have avoided before. I met Andy 6 months ago and he advised me within 3 mins of meeting my dog that positive rewards based training would have minimal if any affect on the issues my dog presented with. Being a trainer l decided he was wrong and l could do this my way. After seeking advice and guidance from two other trainers and one with vast experience with gundog breeds , nothing was working, nothing was sticking. Through this time Andy kept in touch . I struggled to accept a balanced approach is what my dog needed. He has high prey drive , pulled like a train to the point of ligament damage on my shoulder and a broken finger. Off lead he was living his best life with a questionable recall. I couldn’t keep him safe. I decided to call Andy . Three weeks residential training and every day communication from Andy made me feel my dog was in safe hands. The dog l have now is exactly the dog l always wanted. He is still his cheeky self with boundless love . The difference is he walks to heal , he doesn’t disappear into the woods and comes back first time every time.He isn’t chasing birds, bubbles or leaves falling from the trees. There are many ways to train dogs and finding the right way for you and your dog is key. I can’t thank Andy enough for opening up a world of adventures knowing he is safe . If your mind is closed to balance training ask yourself this. Can you live knowing that every time your dog pulls , you are hurting the oesophagus and neck with sometimes irreversible damage. Or you have a harness that can reduce the shoulder movement if fitted incorrectly or isn’t a YShape. There are many areas we can say that are negative reinforcement , even a lead. I cannot thank Andy enough. I had tried every training out there for recall and unfortunately none of it worked. As soon as I let my husky off lead he never came back regardless of what treats I had in my pocket. I researched many trainers and found Andy to be the most ethical trainer in E collars. Words cannot express the joy and fulfilment my husky now gets to receive off lead. I no longer have to get up at 6 in the morning to walk him off lead far into the woods with fears of other animals or dogs appearing. The fact he has managed to train a husky recall off lead is amazing. I contacted Andy as my male golden retriever Murph had very strong prey instinct and I had difficulties in getting him to return. After an initial assessment Andy recommended an e-collar which has been great. Andy's training methods to teach me and Murph with the collar was exceptional and he made it so easy to implement. Andy at Honoris Dog Training is really brilliant at what he does. Our control of our high energy and high drive Golden Retriever has increased massively. My wife and I enjoy our walks with our dog far more now as he's so much better all round and we can't thank Andy enough. Our male 2.5yr old lab had become increasingly unpredictable and reactive to some dogs so we put him in for a residential stay with Andy. With Andy's clear and expert guidance, walks on & off lead have become a pleasure again. Andy also really pushed on our dogs gundog skills, and his passion for dogs, indepth knowledge and clear explanations has "trained" us in how to satisfy his breed mental stimulation, allowing us to bring out the best in our boy. Had myself and my chocolate lab, Angus’ initial consolation today with Andy at Honoris. I have to say it was amazing. Angus pulls on the leash, his re-call isn’t great and had become reactive with certain breeds after he had been attacked by another dog. It became it wasn’t as enjoyable taking him a walk. We learnt so much, just being shown basic technics but having someone watch to see if they were being carried out correctly . Wish I had known about this place sooner. After discussing different levels of training programmes I decided to go for 3 weeks residential as I feel my dog and myself will benefit from this best. Couldn’t recommend Andy more. We used to have go walk our dog out back roads and places where we knew we wouldn’t meet anyone due to his reactive behaviour. Andy has helped us work through the stages of being able to walk him in public places and allow him off the lead. The commutation and support through the full process have been incredible and it was improved the dogs quality of life massively.
