Training Packages

At K9 Fife, we know that successful training means working with both the dog and the person on the other end of the lead. Whatever your goal, it comes down to building trust, understanding your dog’s needs, and being consistent with your approach. Here’s how our training packages work and who they support.

Group Dog Training Classes in Fife and Central Scotland

Our group classes are only open to clients who have completed one-to-one or residential training with us. These sessions are designed as a top up, so you and your dog can keep reinforcing what you have already learned.

Group classes work best for handlers and dogs who already know the basics. They help build confidence in real-life situations and make sure your dog’s obedience holds up when things get challenging.

Through regular group practice, dogs keep improving their manners. Handlers get direct feedback and support in situations that are harder to control at home. Social skills improve in a safe, managed group with familiar trainers.

Group sessions help keep habits solid. They give you the chance to check progress, ask questions and keep up the work, without going back to the start each time.

  • Available to previous one-to-one and residential clients
  • Steady, fair practice among other experienced handlers
  • A supportive setting for building your dog’s social confidence
  • Practical help and honest feedback in every class

One to one obedience and behaviour training

At K9 Fife, we specialise in canine psychology and behaviour, not just obedience. Our one-to-one sessions start by understanding your dog’s mindset, because real change begins with how your dog thinks and feels, not just with commands to sit and stay.

We carefully observe your dog’s emotions, responses, and how you and your dog interact. Is your dog anxious, distracted, or simply unsure? We look at your communication together, as clear, confident connection underpins all good behaviour. With the right mindset, positive behaviours follow naturally.

Our approach combines behaviourist insight and practical training. Each session is fully tailored to suit your goals, your dog’s needs, and your style of handling. You’ll learn to use body language, timing, and clear boundaries that foster trust and understanding.

  • Our one to one training has a deep focus on mindset and emotional well-being
  • Tailored pace and practical, realistic goals
  • Support for nervous, reactive, or rescue dogs
  • Ideal for owners wanting lasting change and deeper understanding

Our one-to-one behavioural training is perfect for addressing stubborn issues, building a true partnership, or helping dogs who need more than a standard group class.

Aggression and Reactivity Training

At K9 Fife, we specialise in working with aggressive and reactive dogs, including many who have already seen other trainers without lasting results. We know just how overwhelming it can feel when barking, lunging, or unpredictable behaviour takes over. Our experience means we can step in where others have struggled, offering practical, proven help that restores trust and calm.

We are often approached by owners who have tried multiple routes and still feel stuck. Over the years, we have successfully helped dogs with complex backgrounds, deep-seated fears, and strong breeds that require a steady, expert hand. No matter how challenging the behaviour, our approach is grounded in safety, real understanding, and fair boundaries.

When working with dogs showing aggression or serious behavioural issues, we know that simply using treats or praise isn’t always effective. In these situations, we focus on setting clear boundaries and using fair, calm corrections to guide your dog’s behaviour—much like dogs naturally do with each other. You might notice that in a group, dogs don’t reward one another for behaving well; instead, they gently but firmly correct each other when boundaries are crossed. Our approach aims to mirror this natural dog-to-dog communication, helping your dog learn what’s appropriate in a way they understand and respect.

Gundog Training

Gundog breeds need a purpose. Training taps into their instincts—swapping chaos for structure and a good relationship. Our gundog programme is hands-on and honest. We welcome working handlers, trial lists, or hobbyists wanting a steady companion.

Training is outdoors. Dogs learn to hunt, retrieve, quarter, and sit steady. We show how to set boundaries without draining enthusiasm. For professionals, the focus is precision and control. For pet gundogs, it’s recall, off-lead reliability, and calm around wildlife.

  • Shaped to your goals - working or companion dogs
  • Focus on handler-dog teamwork
  • Build drive, but keep control
  • Train for real field situations

This package is suitable for handlers preparing a dog for the field, beating line, or trials. It’s also right for active homes with smart breeds needing a proper outlet.
